Eyesynth Niira

Product description

Eyesynth Niira is a blind person's visual comprehension system. It uses advanced sensors that record the space around the user obtaining a 3D map.

The information is processed by a microcomputer, which then translates it to audio that the blind can understand. It's referred to as "heightened sense experience."
The Eyesynth project is now listed as a "Open Disruptive Innovation Scheme" in the European Commission's.

Our contribution

For this project, we provided comprehensive guidance and technical support to help the customer successfully develop their embedded system. Our contributions included:

  • Platform Selection: We advised the customer on selecting an appropriate embedded processor.

  • Yocto Build Integration: We created an initial Yocto build, tailored to their requirements, and seamlessly integrated their custom applications.

  • Build Automation: We developed a build generator, enabling their team to create new builds independently as needed.

  • System Updates: We ported Mender to their board, providing robust support for over-the-air (OTA) updates.

  • System Security: Implemented a trusted boot chain boot process, including signed bootloaders, kernel and rootfs images.

  • Driver Development: We ported several hardware drivers to ensure seamless operation of their system.

  • Bluetooth Integration: We assisted with Bluetooth integration, resolving issues and optimizing connectivity for their application.

Our collaboration with Eyesynth remains strong to this day. They continue to rely on us for tackling complex system-level tasks, ensuring the success and evolution of their embedded platform.
